Using the Mala

All malas, when used for Japamala meditation, aid in calming stress. The energy of the stones and the repetition of mantras or one's own Sankalpa soothes the hyperactivity and thoughts of our mind. 

To use the mala, hold it in your hand and move through each bead with your fingers, reciting a mantra or focusing on your breath. Holding the mala in your hands and sliding the beads one by one creates a rhythm that helps focus the mind.

Maintenance and Care
To keep the lapis lazuli mala in good condition, it is important to clean it regularly with a soft cloth and keep it away from harsh chemicals. Periodic purification, by exposing it to moonlight or fumigating it with incense, can help maintain its positive energy. To maintain the sacred energy of your mala, you can also purify it regularly by placing it under the light of the full moon or using a selenite bowl. Shield it from harsh chemicals and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve its spiritual potency.

  • Length: approximately  32 inches (80 cm) + pendant
  • Lighter and more comfortable, perfect for daily use and to carry with you always.

• Short Mala
  • 81 beads of 0,315" (8 mm)
  • Length: approximately 32 inches (80 cm) + pendant
  • Ideal for a lighter, more practical version, easy to wear every day
  • Traditionally, a mala is composed of 108 stones, but it can also be made shorter; the important rule to follow is that they are multiples of nine.
    A short mala allows for easy counting during meditation and is also easier to wear as it is lighter than the classic "full mala" with 108 stones of 0,315" (8mm).
