Earth Water Jasper Juzu – A Sacred Tool for Balance, Devotion & Inner Strength

Rooted in the tradition of Japanese SGI Nichiren Buddhism, this handcrafted juzu (prayer bead necklace) is a spiritual companion designed to support your daily chanting of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

Main beads – Aqua Terra jasper
A natural stone of earth and water tones, Aqua Terra jasper is traditionally associated with emotional stability, calm strength, and connection to nature.

Parent beads – lotus-shaped Bodhi seeds
The two large "Oyadama" (parent beads) are carved Bodhi seeds shaped like lotus flowers. Bodhi seeds come from the tree traditionally associated with the Buddha's own enlightenment, and the lotus shape is traditionally associated with purity and spiritual awakening rising from the mud of everyday life.

Bodhisattva beads – white jade
White jade is traditionally associated with compassion, wisdom, and serenity. These four beads honor the Bodhisattvas that guide us through life's path.

Each bead along the main strand is individually knotted, one to the next. This gives the juzu a smoother, more pleasant feel as it moves through your fingers during chanting, adds to its durability over time, and means that if the thread were ever to break, the beads would stay held in place rather than scattering and being lost.

This juzu is entirely hand-knotted with care using a strong and flexible thread. The 6 mm natural stones are untreated, so no two pieces are exactly alike. It includes cotton tassels and discreet stainless steel details for added durability.
