How to Use

As a mini oil lamp: fill the basin with standard lamp oil (not included), insert a cotton wick so about ¼" protrudes, then light for a calm, steady flame.

As an incense burner: add a thin layer of sand or ash to diffuse heat, place an incense cone on top (or set a charcoal disc on the sand and add your resin).

As aromatherapy diffuser, add 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) of water to the bowl, then 2–6 drops of essential or fragrance oil—the water acts as a heat buffer. Place a tealight underneath. Never let the bowl run dry; if the water gets low, extinguish the tealight and let the stone cool before topping up. Keep some distance between the flame and the bowl (if the stand allows), and ventilate the room. Never pour cold water onto hot stone, as it may crack. For easier upkeep, place a small removable dish (ceramic or metal) on top with the water and drops; this prevents oil from soaking into the stone. To clean after using oils, let the piece cool, blot residue with paper, then wipe with a cloth lightly dampened with alcohol or mild soapy water and dry well. If it still feels greasy, sprinkle a little baking soda, let it sit, then wipe away.
