108 Bead Mala in Lavender Jade, Lepidolite and Amethyst with Elephant Charm

Why I created this mala

Rare, one piece. This mala came together around a stone I don't often find: lavender jade, paired with lepidolite and amethyst. It's a gentle, quiet piece, made for meditation, mantra, breathwork, and the moments you need to come back to the body rather than push through. If you're drawn to softer colors and a calmer register than the usual bold statement mala, this is one to sit with.

Materials and meaning

The mala brings together lavender jade, lepidolite, and amethyst — three stones traditionally associated with softness, calm, inner listening, and contemplative presence. Lavender jade is genuinely uncommon to find in this quality, and it carries a receptive, gentle quality traditionally linked to harmony and emotional balance.

Lepidolite is a lithium-rich mica, and it's traditionally associated with calm and the quieting of mental tension, which makes it a meaningful stone for moments of overwhelm or transition.

Amethyst is used here as the meru bead, capped with a small steel cover. It's one of the stones most consistently linked across traditions to meditation and inward focus — a quartz variety whose purple color comes from trace iron and natural irradiation, prized since antiquity for exactly this contemplative association.

At the midpoint of the mala sits a single small white jade bead, marking the halfway point of the strand. Alongside the cotton tassel hangs a small elephant charm: a figure traditionally associated, particularly in Hindu iconography connected to Ganesha, with wisdom, strength, and the clearing of obstacles.

The mala is finished with a simple cotton tassel, giving the piece a natural, grounded presence. Each Samdea mala is handmade with attention to material quality, cord strength, and symbolic balance — not simply as jewelry, but as a companion for practice: something to touch, carry, use, and return to over time.
