CRYSTALS DURING PREGNANCY
Share
Crystals are born from extremely long natural processes and thus encapsulate the force of nature and time. Mother Nature, throughout the lengthy transformation process, imparts a significant vibrational power to them, which adapts according to the living beings they come into contact with and can carry substantial energy.
Some people discover they are very sensitive to their power, some start feeling their energy douring pregnancy, while others may be less so, and still others feel the influence of certain stones more strongly than others. In any case, their charge is capable of altering the energetic vibration of individual cells and even atoms in a living body. The vibrational quality of a crystal, when used wisely and correctly, can even prevent the onset of physical and psychological conditions, alleviate their effects, or simply enhance the quality of our energy, making us more "clean and radiant."
The use of crystals is quite extensive: they can be used in meditation or past life regressions, and since ancient times, they have been employed in addressing issues related to fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth. The use of crystals during the delicate months of pregnancy can indeed prove to be of great assistance. We will specifically explore here which crystals are most suitable to wear during pregnancy.
MOONSTONE
Moonstone is the stone of femininity and has long been considered a crystal that gently accompanies women during pregnancy, aiding in preparing the uterus for conception. It possesses powerful reflective and calming energy, bringing emotional balance and relieving stress and anxiety about the future. This mineral is beneficial even if, for example, one feels a bit less feminine (or has never felt particularly feminine and wishes to work on this aspect) and if the weight of the unborn child makes one feel awkward. It helps build more confidence and, above all, realign with yin energy. Additionally, its vibrations act on the pineal gland, which, during pregnancy, helps achieve perfect harmony between hormonal and natural phases. Moonstone promotes rest, aiding the expectant mother in achieving restful sleep. It balances the hormonal system and emotions, proving useful during childbirth by helping alleviate pain.AGATE
Traditionally, the perfect stone during pregnancy is agate, which helps overcome moments of nervousness and acts as a protective amulet. Various types of agate can be used - it is one of the most widespread stones and comes in many wonderful colors in nature. Unfortunately, it is often found colored or heated, thus deprived of its naturalness and power. Therefore, be cautious with stones that appear too flashy!
In the formation process of Agate, the energies of all four elements contribute: water (hydrothermal environment), fire (lava), air (air bubbles), and earth (crystals). This makes the nature of this stone particularly rebalancing. Agate is an excellent choice for promoting introspection and centering, especially in specimens characterized by equal and concentric stripes. It enables better endurance of external influences, effectively integrating various stimuli through introspective work and centering that helps live the moment with serenity and fullness. Agate is recommended for individuals experiencing energy imbalances, a common occurrence during pregnancy.
In particular, moss agate has long been considered a stone that protects during childbirth, reducing the likelihood of complications, providing strength to the mother throughout, and shielding her from exhaustion. Physically, it is said to reduce sensitivity to certain mild food intolerances. It protects against various bacterial and viral actions that could harm the unborn child during pregnancy and childbirth, such as influenza, colds, and various infections. Moss agate balances the spiritual, intellectual, and physical planes, bringing inner calm and attracting prosperity to all spheres of life. It is a stone that encourages new beginnings and is a good luck charm for those starting something new...
SELENITE
Selenite is also a crystal associated with the Moon: its name derives from Selene, the Goddess of the Moon in Greek mythology. Linked to femininity, emotions, and feelings, it is well-known and used as a stone to protect pregnancy and the maternity period. It promotes the expulsion of toxins from the body, alleviates pains related to the reproductive system, and contributes to reducing water retention. Prolonged contact with this crystal has beneficial effects on the muscular system, making it stronger and less susceptible to stress. This stone is also famous as the 'stone of fertility,' facilitating conception and ensuring protection during gestation. Useful as support during times of change, its intensely calming energy instills peace and stimulates the functionality of the seventh chakra. Among all known crystals, selenite is one of those with a greater ability to connect with the angelic realm, spirit guides, and divine protectors. A curious characteristic of this stone is its ability to connect two people, which can be of great benefit for the connection with the unborn child. It is even believed that information can be stored inside the crystal and later retrieved by another person through contact with it.
MALACHITE
Malachite assumes various shades of green, from lighter to darker tones. Note that it is a rather rare and expensive stone, and often there are many good imitations in the market that, however, lack any vibrational properties. Its different color gradations allow it to form round and harmonious lines that evoke a sensation of peace and lightness. It can help with depression, anxieties, fears of various kinds, and nightmares as it brings order to mental confusion. Therefore, it is recommended for women during pregnancy to experience this period of life with greater calm and happiness, allowing them to enjoy it to the fullest. It imparts inner serenity and compassion, combats selfishness and anger, and balances emotions. It connects with the power of love and joy, vitality, and security. It provides the inner strength needed to move forward. During childbirth, it also helps soothe pain and promotes the proper flow of breast milk.
THE ANGEL CALLER
The Angel Caller is a jewelry piece originating from Indonesia, specifically Bali, where pregnant women were adorned with a musical necklace. Traces of it are also found in Mexico, where it is still used and called a 'bola.' It is a pendant with a little bell that mothers give to their daughters in sweet anticipation."
The pendant used today is spherical, generally made of silver, with a small bell inside that produces a pleasant sound. It is usually attached to a string or a long necklace so that it can rest just above the pregnant woman's navel. This way, the baby will hear the tinkling of the pendant when moving, calming them throughout the pregnancy. The gentle sound will also soothe the expectant mother, keeping fears and negative thoughts at bay.
The significance of the angel caller is linked to its function: to call upon the angels to protect the unborn child. It is a talisman that invokes the protection of a guardian angel for both the woman wearing it and the little one in her womb.
The ideal time to wear it is from the twentieth week of pregnancy when the fetus begins to hear noises from the outside – the little bell could be one of the first sounds reaching them from the world! From the thirtieth week onwards, they will start to hear even softer sounds, and that's when they can truly perceive and be comforted by this sound.
The angel caller is so charming, and its sound is so pleasing that anyone can wear it as a symbol of luck and protection. It is often given as a gift to women who are not yet pregnant but wish to become so. It can also be useful to wear the necklace even after the baby is born – the sound of the bell will have a reassuring meaning for them, something they can recognize, and they might enjoy playing with it (with the necessary precautions if it's small!).
IF YOU DON'T FEEL HAPPY AND SERENE, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU
"When you learn to manage your inner judge, it becomes much easier to silence all the aspiring judges on the outside!"
Arianna Basile
Pregnancy is a very delicate period for women; it can be a beautiful moment or not, as it is often a source of anxieties, fears, and stress related to the life of the little one inside the mother's body. The female body is no longer exclusively owned by the expectant mother, and often, one undergoes many examinations every month. Many things that once seemed entirely natural now become more challenging or even prohibited, such as certain foods.
Add to this the societal pressures on how one should be, what one should do, and how one should feel – a moment that could be the apotheosis of femininity and serenity can actually become a time of significant tension and emotional stress.
In these cases, engaging in meditation with rose quartz placed on the heart chakra (located exactly where the physical heart is) can be very helpful. Before going to bed at night, one could do a short meditation by placing a rose quartz on the heart chakra and one on the belly. By doing so, an energetic connection is established, a beam of love between the maternal heart and that of the child. In addition to rose quartz, you can use amazonite, which has a calming effect and is therefore an excellent ally in case of impatience or nervousness in pregnant women.
In this moment when one is particularly sensitive, the judgments of others can penetrate like blades, causing self-doubt, and the advice of friends and relatives can seem more like chaotic orders than loving cuddles; there may be a need to return to listening to oneself. In these cases, sodalite will help to find the right balance.
In the case of apathy during this period of change, turquoise or apatite can be helpful; if, on the contrary, one feels a bit too agitated and thoughts are crowding the mind, white agate or light jade will bring some tranquility.
One could take advantage of pregnancy, if there is time to rest, to deepen self-awareness. Practicing yoga and meditation during pregnancy is an excellent method to connect with and reclaim one's body and learn a bit about one's mind, calm it, and begin to learn how to manage it. In this case, clear quartz (rock crystal) will be of great support, and, to further stimulate inner dialogue, amethyst.
The personal advice I feel compelled to give is to continue feeling "natural" and not worry about being "normal." If possible, it would be beneficial to continue with the practice of yoga and meditation and with your inner journey even after pregnancy: it will be good for you and, therefore, for your child.
