Composed and knotted entirely by hand with natural, untreated, or colored stones. Composition: 81 natural precious stones 0.315" (8 mm), super-resistant waxed thread, steel, and nickel and lead-free alloy. Mala length 31.5" (80 cm) + the tassel can be modified

Traditionally, a mala consists of 108 stones, but it can also be made shorter; the important rule to follow is that they are multiples of nine. A short mala with 8 mm stones allows for easy counting during meditation and is also easier to wear, being lighter than the classic "full mala" with 108 stones of 8 mm.
